Around the world in 80 years
1966 was quite a year by all accounts.
On January 3rd, the first Acid Test was conducted at the Fillmore, San Francisco.
Then on February 14th, the Australian dollar was introduced at a rate of 2 dollars per pound, or 10 shillings per dollar.
By March 4th, John Lennon famously commented, "We're more popular than Jesus now".
On July 30th, England won the world cup, spanking West Germany 4-2 in extra time.
August 13th sees Mao Zedong begining the Cultural Revolution to purge and reorganize China's Communist Party. (What a nice bloke, eh?)
September 8th saw the debut of Star Trek with its first episode entitled "The Man Trap."
Just when everyone thought 1966 couldn't get any better, I popped out on December 14th!
My goal with the development of this site, is to provide a forum in which to expound on things that have altered my perception of life, regardless of whether or not they're politically correct. Topics will undoubtedly include politics, religion, personal freedom, and democracy, with the bulk of my day-to-day thoughts finding their way to my blog.
I also hope that my ideas, comments and opinions will inspire feedback and constructive criticism, for without communication, I feel there can be no true objectivity.
It's also worth noting that this site will be in a permananent state of change, as my opinions shift over time, so please bear with me if things seem cluttered, but sometimes chaos is merely my way of saying, "Genius at work!"
